Eheim Mech is a filter media made of ceramic hollow bodies for coarse dirt particles. Immediately after entering the filter cycle, the water is swirled through the ceramic hollow bodies. This lowers coarse dirt particles. The treated, pre-filtered water continues its way through the other filter layers.
